I stumble in the search
I’ve broken too many bones to count
Yet I found you there waiting
You never left me, you were sitting
Patiently waiting, seeing the pain in my eyes
Knowing every wound stitches us closer. My
lips, wind scorched, quaking with words
but lungs failing to produce a rhythm,
the earnest silence screaming more than a
syllable could muster, and you understood.
You didn’t revive me, you breathed new life
into a damaged machine, you awoke a
dormant volcano, yet
I could of sworn I saw you sitting there
